MCD TestSuite
MCD comet – TestStand®integration for test systems
Development and execution of individual test applications
MCD Comet combines individual operating concepts, existing TestStand® functions and different hardware within a central test environment. This allows test applications to be flexibly adapted to the respective test process and existing test processes to continue to be used.

MCD comet – TestStand®integration for test systems
A flexible end-of-line test bench
For this application, MCD developed a flexible end-of-line test bench that tests every variant in less than 30 seconds. The system combines optical, mechanical and electrical test methods in one integrated testing concept.

Flexible & integrable
MCD Comet combines TestStand®integration, customizable user interfaces, open extensibility, and hardware and communication connectivity in a central test environment. Functions and components can be merged according to the respective test requirements.
User interfaces can be individually designed and existing TestStand® functions can be integrated directly into the application.
- Predefined user interfaces
- Individual operating concepts with graphic elements
- Integration of existing TestStand® functions
- Adaptation to the respective testing process
The open software architecture enables the integration of additional software components and functions without having to re-set up existing test processes.
- External DLLs
- Third party software
- MCD tool monitors
- Visualization of test processes
Measuring devices, PLC systems and other hardware can be efficiently connected and controlled via various communication interfaces.
- TCP/IP and UDP
- RS232
- CAN and LIN
- Measuring devices and PLC systems
Additional testing, analysis and automation tasks can be integrated within the central test environment.
- Image processing
- Audio and video signal analysis
- Boundary scan tests
- Control of robot arms

A look inside the MCD test solution
Variant-specific test logic
The test bench checks all functions present in the exterior mirror:
Mirror Settings
Camera systems inspect lighting functions and mirror positions, while actuators, folding mechanisms and electrical functions are tested automatically.
Adjustment and folding functions
Mirror heating
Electrochromic dimming glass
Lighting Functions
Turn signal
Lane change assist
Surround lighting

What’s missing matters, too.
Negative testing ensures that equipment features which are not installed cannot be activated. It also verifies that missing features remain unavailable.
Measurement data can be stored in SQL databases and used for analysis or quality assurance processes. Thanks to the close integration with TestStand® and the MCD tool monitors, the solution remains flexible and adaptable to new testing requirements.
