MCD AudioAnalyzer
DIGITAL AND ANALOG SIGNAL ANALYSIS
Professional audio analysis from development to production
The MCD AudioAnalyzer is used where analogue and digital audio signals must be objectively detected, analysed and compared with defined target values. Different signal types, metrics, and integration requirements require a flexible solution for reproducible audio and signal measurements.

DIGITAL AND ANALOG SIGNAL ANALYSIS
Alongside the base unit, the “Toolmonitor AudioAnalyzer” is at the heart of audio analysis. It combines control, signal acquisition, measured-value display, signal visualization, and evaluation in one application, and integrates directly into the test environment through the TestSuite software platform.
Functions such as an oscilloscope, FFT spectrum, frequency and phase response, measurement-curve analysis, filtering, and live display enable fast, repeatable evaluation of acoustic events and electrical audio signals.
A flexible end-of-line test bench
For this application, MCD developed a flexible end-of-line test bench that tests every variant in less than 30 seconds. The system combines optical, mechanical and electrical test methods in one integrated testing concept.

What’s missing matters, too.
Negative testing ensures that equipment features which are not installed cannot be activated. It also verifies that missing features remain unavailable.
Thanks to its compact design, the AudioAnalyzer can be integrated directly into customer-specific test adapters and automated test systems. This results in space-saving test solutions with short signal paths and reproducible measurement sequences.
The MCD AudioAnalyzer combines measurements in the time and frequency domains with signal visualization, quality assessment and defined test signals. Measurement data can be processed or exported within the system for traceability, fault analysis and process monitoring.

Challenges and concept

At the heart of audio analysis, alongside the base unit, is the “Toolmonitor AudioAnalyzer.” With its intuitive user interface and extensive analysis functions, it is integrated into the TestSuite software platform and therefore directly into the test environment. The Toolmonitor combines control, signal acquisition, measured-value display, signal visualization, and evaluation in one application. Features such as an oscilloscope, FFT spectrum, frequency and phase response, measurement-curve analysis, filtering, and live display enable rapid assessment of acoustic events.
Remote control and data queries are available through interfaces such as the .NET SDK, Socket, WebAPI, Telnet, command line, or SCPI commands. Measurement data can be imported and exported for traceability, fault analysis, or process monitoring. The AudioAnalyzer is therefore suitable both as a standalone measurement system and as an integrable component in FKT, EOL, inline, and automated test systems.
Scope of testing and functions
Scope of testing and functions

The AudioAnalyzer is used wherever sound and signal quality must be evaluated objectively and compared with target values. In the automotive sector, for example, it supports the analysis of infotainment systems, hands-free systems, voice controls, radios, amplifiers, and loudspeaker systems.
Typical measurement tasks include frequency and phase response analysis, level measurement, FFT spectrum analysis, THD, SINAD, RMS, AC/DC measurements, and signal analysis in both the time and frequency domains. Integrated generator functions produce defined test signals and modulations, allowing audio quality, signal processing, interference noise, and deviations to be assessed objectively and reproducibly.
Thanks to its compact design, the AudioAnalyzer can be integrated directly into customer-specific test adapters and automated test systems. This enables space-saving test solutions, short signal paths, and efficient, reproducible audio and signal measurements.
